Connect to ELIXIR Europe
Your institute's membership of ELIXIR Ireland lets you join ELIXIR's European groups. Here is how to get set up.
Do the national steps first if you haven't. Your ticks are saved in this browser only.
-
Create your LS Login account
LS Login (Life Science Login) is the single sign-on for ELIXIR. Register with your institution's login so your account is linked to your institute. You'll choose your organisation, fill in a short form, accept the usage policy and confirm your email.
Problems signing up: support@aai.lifescience-ri.eu

Join ELIXIR Europe expert working groups
This is how you get onto the ELIXIR intranet. Open a group's page and press Join at the bottom. You sign in with LS Login, and you're added to that group's mailing list and the intranet. Join as many groups as you like.
- Platforms: build and run ELIXIR's core services. Members only.
- Communities: bring together experts in a life science area. Most meet in person once a year.
- Focus Groups: time-limited groups working on one topic.
-
Log in to the ELIXIR intranet
Once you've joined a group, log in with LS Login. The intranet has the Handbook of Operations, ELIXIR templates and logos, All Hands registration, and details of travel grants and staff exchange. You can manage your groups there too.
-
Join ELIXIR Slack
Most groups chat day to day on the ELIXIR Europe Slack workspace. Invites go through us, and we add you to the ELIXIR Ireland private channel at the same time.
-
Subscribe to the ELIXIR Weekly Brief
ELIXIR's newsletter for members, every Monday: news, calls, events and requests from the Hub and Nodes.
-
Note your Hub contacts
The ELIXIR Hub in Cambridge coordinates the groups. Each group has a Hub liaison you can email directly with questions about joining or taking part.
Find your groups
Each link opens the group's page on elixir-europe.org, where you press Join. The name under each group is its Hub contact; their details are in Hub contacts.

Funding, exchanges and events
Get in touch with us early. If you are thinking about an ELIXIR call or a European project through ELIXIR, contact the Head of Node and Node Coordinator before you apply. We can help you shape the idea, connect you with partners across the ELIXIR network and make sure it fits the Node's mission and plans, which gives your application the best chance.
Email Aedín Culhane (aedin.culhane@ul.ie) and Gavin Farrell (gavin.farrell@ul.ie), or the coordination team at elixir@ul.ie.
- Commissioned Services: funded projects run by Nodes to fill gaps ELIXIR has identified.

- Industry Knowledge Exchange Scheme: exchanges with companies.
- European projects: ELIXIR leads and joins Horizon Europe consortia such as the European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI).
- Everything ELIXIR offers members: ELIXIR members page.
